The top of the Olive Branch is Red Spruce which helps to make the guitar at once powerful and warm. The back, sides, pickguard, and neck are highly figured Koa; fingerboard, head veneers, and other bits are Pernambuco. 16 1/2" lower bout, 2 3/4" thick at the end block, 2 1/2" thick at the neck block, and, believe it or not, it weighs in at a mere 3 1/2 pounds! The string height can be adjusted by the player with a simple hidden screw that elevates the neck, adjusting the action without the need to retune. The tailpiece is anodized aluminum, and also is adjustable for height. A small red olive is inlaid in the back (in case you get hungry). The tuning pegs are 16:1 ratio planetary gears with specially designed Pernambuco knobs. Many thanks to David Slagle of Manhattan Island for his lovely photography. |
